Arts & Crafts

Arts and Crafts have been abundant in our household lately. Katelyn loves to paint, she wants to paint multiple times a day. Unfortunately those sessions usually last about 10 minutes and she's ready for a new distraction. During Christmas we created lots of Christmas Trees, Wreaths, and Snowmen. We didn't make any ornaments this year, but I look forward to making salt dough ornaments next year with both the girls!
Not only do we enjoy arts and crafts we LOVE music time. The girls have two drums, a xylaphone, tamborine, multiple maracas, castanets, bells, and other fun instruments. Katelyn is obsessed and Kiera totally rocks out with the best of us! Kiera can shake those maracas and beat those drums like it's nobody's business. Music, art, dance & books are a part of our daily routine. We love it!!!
Below is Kiera with a castanet watching Katelyn play one of the drums!
Our Snowman ornament that took it's place at the top of our tree this year! I'm going to include all of their artwork in their scrapbooks, it will be a great way to save them, save money, and use them in the themed pages!

Here is a Christmas tree that Katelyn painted for Grandma Cherri! She made Christmas trees for a lot of family this Christmas.

I've been able to dapple a bit in my crafts as well. I've done a few pages of Katelyn's scrapbook, but I have a LONG way to go. My cousin Jessica has a sewing machine and has helped me with a few custom creations. I made my sister a nursing shawl. It turned out pretty good I must say! Last night I created a shopping cart cover with four little leg holes. I wanted something that both my girls would fit in and would (hopefully) fit in a Costco sized shopping cart. Unfortunatly I didn't have precise measurements, so it is done, it's beautiful, and I'll be lucky if it fits in any shopping cart :) I'll post pics on our first outing!!! I'm so excited about it. I really really really hope it fits!!!
